Polyaspartic Coatings That Cure Same-Day
Same-day return-to-service polyaspartic coatings for businesses that can’t afford downtime. UV-stable, chemical-resistant, and built for outdoor use where traditional epoxy fails.
What Is Polyaspartic Coatings?
Polyaspartic is a fast-cure resin coating in the polyurea family that cures in hours instead of the 8 to 12 hours epoxy needs per coat. That speed is the killer feature: a polyaspartic floor goes from bare concrete to fully cured and back in service in 24 hours or less. For restaurants, retail stores, and oil-field shops where every hour of downtime costs money, polyaspartic is often the only practical coating option.
Beyond speed, polyaspartic outperforms epoxy on UV stability and chemical resistance. It’s the standard topcoat over metallic and decorative epoxy systems for that reason. It also works as a standalone system for outdoor concrete (driveways, patios, pool decks) where epoxy yellows and fails. The trade-off versus epoxy is cost (typically 30 to 50 percent more) and a slightly faster working time during application that requires experienced installers.
Common Polyaspartic Coatings Applications
Steadfast installs polyaspartic coating systems across the Permian Basin and broader West Texas. Common applications include the following, but the right system depends on the specific environment, traffic load, and any chemical or impact exposure.
Restaurants & Food Service
Same-day return-to-service installs for cook lines, dining rooms, and back-of-house. Close Sunday night, open Monday morning.
Retail Stores
Branch reflooring without multi-day store closure. Polyaspartic finishes overnight; store reopens next business day.
Oil-Field Mechanical Shops
Working shops that can’t shut down for 3 days. Polyaspartic handles weekend installs and Monday-morning return.
Outdoor Driveways
UV-stable system designed for direct sun exposure. Won’t yellow or chalk like epoxy used outdoors.
Patios & Pool Decks
Outdoor decorative concrete with anti-slip aggregate options for wet-area safety.
Cold Storage & Walk-Ins
Cures at temperatures epoxy can’t, including walk-in coolers and cold storage where epoxy fails to set properly.

Three Things That Set This Install Apart
Same-Day Return To Service
The 2-to-4-hour cure per coat means a complete polyaspartic install can finish overnight. Critical for restaurants, retail, and shops where downtime is more expensive than coating cost.
UV Stable For Outdoor Use
Polyaspartic does not yellow, chalk, or degrade under UV exposure. That makes it the right system for outdoor driveways, patios, pool decks, and any exterior concrete that epoxy would fail on.
Wide Temperature Window
Polyaspartic cures correctly across a much wider temperature range than epoxy, including cold storage and walk-in cooler floors. Epoxy fails to set in those environments; polyaspartic handles them.

Polyaspartic Coatings Common Questions
Is polyaspartic the same as polyurethane?
Both are in the polyurea family but they’re not identical. Polyaspartic is a specific subset of polyurea that has a longer working time during application (30 to 45 minutes vs polyurea’s 30 seconds), making it practical to install with standard rollers and squeegees. Performance is similar for most applications.
When should I choose polyaspartic over epoxy?
Three scenarios: same-day return-to-service is required (restaurants, retail, working shops), the floor will see UV exposure (outdoor concrete), or the install temperature is outside epoxy’s working range (cold storage, walk-ins). Otherwise epoxy is usually the better-priced choice for the same finished result.
Does polyaspartic cost more than epoxy?
Yes, typically 30 to 50 percent more per square foot installed. The price reflects the resin cost (polyaspartic is more expensive than epoxy) and the faster working time that requires experienced installers. Most clients who pay the premium are paying for the speed, not the chemical performance.
How long does a polyaspartic install actually take?
We can complete a 1500-square-foot residential garage in 8 to 10 hours total. Commercial installs over 3000 square feet typically run two days but with same-day return-to-service possible if the install is staged. Restaurant overnight installs are common, close Sunday night, fully cured by Monday open.
Is polyaspartic durable as a topcoat over epoxy?
Yes. This is one of the most common uses. We install epoxy as the basecoat (for the deep concrete bond) and polyaspartic as the topcoat (for UV stability and chemical resistance). The combination outperforms either system alone.
Can polyaspartic be installed in cold weather?
Yes. Polyaspartic cures correctly at temperatures down to about 30 degrees Fahrenheit, where epoxy needs at least 50 to 60 degrees. That makes it the practical choice for winter installs in West Texas garages and unheated commercial spaces.
